Otonumba
Autonomous Indoor Fire Extinguisher Project
Project Details
Description
The Otonumba system, developed by a group of ITU graduate students, uses the VIGU guidance kit for fire detection, localization, and suppression tasks. Otonumba is an autonomous robotic system that detects, locates, and extinguishes fires indoors. The robot detects the fire with its 360-degree rotating camera, determines its location and distance. Then, it calculates the best spray angle with its integrated water tank and spraying mechanism and extinguishes the fire by shooting water. Otonumba provides a fast and effective fire response, especially in offices, warehouses, and other indoor areas. It also offers remote monitoring, warning, and control via its Wi-Fi connection. The Otonumba project will be presented at the ELECO conference in November 2025.
